Dumfries & Galloway
The views
The first thing you’ll notice about Dumfries & Galloway is just how beautiful this lowland part of Scotland is. From the rocky and sandy Solway Coast looking out for miles across the sea, to the lush green inland forests and hills, it’s simply amazing.
Host to Greatness
Many world-famous people have called Dumfries & Galloway their home: JM Barrie’s Peter Pan was inspired by his childhood experience of a Dumfries garden. Robert Burns spent many years living in the town and wrote some of his most famous works while here.
Wildlife
As much as the people love their landscape, the animals love it too. From the red squirrels and the red deer in the forests to the ospreys and red kites in the sky, there’s plenty for you to see and photograph – if you’re quick!
